Wayo Japanese Restaurant in Springfield

Terrible customer service! Server had an attitude for a mistake that she made ringing in my order. Will not be going back to this place, there are plenty of other establishments in Springfield that will treat me with the respect that I deserve.

Delicious sushi! And love the ambience and the private booths with curtains, especially the ones with windows. Can be very romantic at night. Huge sushi selection. Great service. Also got miso soup on the house so that was awesome. I'm from out of town so I can't comment on prices because they're normal to me but perhaps more expensive for the area since everything is so cheap here? Not really sure. But really liked this place a lot and definitely recommend!

Excellent food and great service!

This place is fantastic. The server was a very sweet, attentive lady whom assisted us the whole way. Every dish was nicely presented. The private 'rooms' were a welcome surprise... and to top it off, I accidentally left my credit card there, called the next day, and received kindness and speed in every interaction. Also, I really like their artwork presented throughout. I'd like to see their black rooms decorated a bit more though - being an artist myself, I see it as a possibility. ;) Still great.

Absolutely AMAZING. I am a huge fan of sushi and this is by far some of the best sushi I’ve ever had! This place is a hidden gem 💎 Definitely will be going back on a regular basis.

Great food! Friendly and accomodating waiter. Fast service. The presentation of the dishes was awesome! Would love to go again and reccomend to anyone who likes sushi. The fried tempura ice cream is excellent! Not too sweet and lots of different textured elements in the dish to experiment with. The seating was very private with each table having its own surrounding partition wall and translucent privacy curtain. The atmosphere was quiet, cozy, and romantic. Overall an amazing restaurant that was well worth the price!

My daughter and I always love eating here. We are sushi addicts and this is close to home. Food is great as well as the prices.

We went yesterday between appts, and got to eat in alone for lunch. It was beautifully intimate, peaceful, and absolutely delicious! They are always wonderful to us, we will always return. ♥️♥️

This place is a gem. The service is always wonderful and the food is phenomenal. You can tell the owners have put heart and soul into this place. We love going for sushi and the other food as well. If you haven't given it a try, you're missing out!

This is one of our favorite date night restaurants. The private booths are comfortable and somewhat exotic. I will admit that with our lower class income the prices make it so that we typically leave still a little hungry but the experience with the aluminum chopsticks and literally gourmet sushi make it always worth what we spend. One of the best places for lunch! The staff is always very friendly and have great recommendations if you want to try something new. I don't know about dinner time but there's never a wait for lunch, in and out quickly.

This place is so soooooo good!!! Most definitely going back. Great prices as well.

This place is pretty awesome. The prices arev very reasonable. The menu had a few different things on it that are pleasantly unique. The owners are very nice people, and they work in the restaurant. One of the reasons the prices are so good is because they cut out the middle man and make as much stuff in house as they can. Also, very good spot for a date night. Super cozy with private secluded booths with a curtain. This is definitely one of the "spots" in town.

This is one of my top sushi restaurants to visit. I love the atmosphere. The lighting is dim, but not too dim. The parking lot is large. The only thing I do not like is the location. At times, you will have trouble leaving the lot. However, if you leave through the back it is a lot easier and you can hit a light. I love the customer service and the additional sides that they provide you. It's a must try.

Don't live in Springfield but would love to have a place like this in my town! Delicious food and gorgeous presentation.

Best sushi 🍣 ever super impressive

The food here was tasty! I had caliente roll, tempura udon, miso soup, and chicken yakisoba. Everything tasted great. I left feeling stuffed.

We tried Wayo for the first time today and I'm so sad that we didn't try it sooner. Our meal was perfect and the server was friendly and informative.We ordered nigiri and several specialty rolls and everything was delicious. There was a little bit of a wait for our food, but the quality of the sushi was better than anything else we have tried in Springfield, which probably explains the wait.This is our new favorite sushi spot and we will definitely be back!

Absolutely beautiful, serene restaurant that feels like VIP dining because they seat you in your own private booth so to speak. Food is expensive but it’s quality and so much heart and thought is put into their sushi & display! Definitely would recommend the ‘Love Boat’ for date night!

Our favorite date night getaway, we love how the booths are private. The food is wonderful, the zebra roll is my favorite. We'll be back again soon!

Came here tonight to satisfy our sushi craving. This place is awesome! Seating is super cute, you get your own little walled in area with a curtain doorway. Service was great and the food was FANTASTIC. No ambiance like you'd usually find at a place like this but that's okay. I'm a Philadelphia roll guy but I've gotta say, the Rich and Famous roll is my new favorite. Will certainly return.

Last year I gave Wayo four stars, which was a mistake on my part.Wayo consistently impresses me with customer service, atmosphere, and food which is lovingly made and plated. Truly a Japanese cuisine star in the Midwest.Not pictured are two beautiful rolls I ate before i thought to take one.

Everything was great! The restaurant was very quiet, but it was a Thursday evening. The service was great. The waitress was the perfect amount of attentive. I tried their cucumber salad which had pickled cucumber, a little crab meat, and toasted sesame seeds. It was fantastic. I ordered 3 sushi rolls, and they were all prepared to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant 👌

So amazing! The environment is so relaxed and I love that the booths are all private. Everything is so fresh and the presentation really kicks it up! The rolls were so flavorful, they didn't even need soy sauce! I ordered the "falling in love roll" which is with a white sauce. And the "rock and roll" which is the darker one. I also ordered a side of seaweed salad and "bulgogi beef?" Dish which came with teriyaki veggies cooked to perfection!Great place to bring a small group to. Most seating is for 4 people. Although they have a few larger booths in the back. The server really knew how to keep the dishes coming at just the right time without the table being too overcrowded with food. What really pleasently surprised me, was the jasmine green tea was actually loose leaf tea steeped fresh at my table. Not bagged! Such a great little place!
